 [ Tal Funke-Bilu as Walker ]
reve is a series of short films written and directed by Susan Lien Whigham, which uses dramatic narrative fiction as a medium to explore the aftermath of trauma. It tells the story of a man named Walker, who is coping with mental instability following the tragic loss of his young son. The title character, "Reve" (pronounced "rev", like the French word for "dream"), is a complicated woman with a troubled history of her own, and someone who unconsciously inspires him to let go of the past and move forward. Walker first learns of Reve through a series of waking dreams which help him to gradually gain trust in his own intuition.
Episode 1, "Lost and Found", was produced and released in 2009, and can now be viewed on Youtube. A significant leap forward in production quality can be noticed in Episode 2, as time and resources contributed to the development of Susan's skills as a fledgeling filmmaker in the interim. Episode 2, "Leaving Styx", was an official selection at the prestigious 2010 Marbella International Film Festival in Marbella, Spain.
Post-production began in October 2010 on episodes 3, 4 and 5, and the concluding three episodes - making a total of 8 for the series - are scheduled to begin pre-production in Spring 2012.
